2011 Gourmet Girls Update!
Well folks, it seems the illustrious Ms.Greenlaw has deemed a national
book tour promoting the upcoming release of her latest literary offering,
a cookbook, co-written with her Mom Martha, to be a tad more important than
hosting a dinner party on Isle au Haut.....hmmph....what is she thinking?!
So as a result, myself, and the lovely and talented (and soon-to-be
cookbook authoress herself!) Kate Shaffer of Black Dinah Chocolatiers will
attempt to fill the boots of our wayward sea captain.
The details of Linda’s part of the package described below will be changed
to include more fun in the Inn kitchen, and lucky you, more face time with
yours truly. In addition to the morning sessions preparations, we will
make pasta from scratch, a saucy little somethin’ somethin’ for drizzling
on top and embellish it all with a fresh offering from the sea. Then we’ll
whip up a tasty appetizer and round up Kate and her business partner
husband Steve, crack a bottle of vino and eat ourselves silly!
Hmmph...Linda-Shminda....who needs ’er....ain’t nothing she can do we can’t
do better....c’ept maybe finesse a giant fish on to the deck of a wildly
pitching boat out in the middle of the big ass ocean while it’s blowing a
gale....hmmph.... Any-way.
Should the famed captain’s schedule change and she somehow manages to
shake free on the dates offered (and hasn’t read this!) we will go with
the plan as it is written below, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Gourmet Cooking, Delicious Seafood Meals
and Artisanal Chocolate Making
Begin your culinary adventure on the evening of your arrival with
a delicious dinner prepared for you by Diana in the Inn's kitchen.
The next morning, join Diana for a 2-hour class
preparing bread, a side dish and dessert for the evening meal. At noontime we
take a break, relax and enjoy the packed lunch provided. After
lunch, time to go for a stroll, take out one of the Inn bikes or just lounge in
a lawn chair and soak up the surf sound until dinner.

After breakfast the following morning, you will take your packed lunch
over to Black Dinah Chocolatiers, where Kate Shaffer will give a hands-on 2-hour
demonstration of artisanal chocolate making. You will learn about
ganache, couverture and the origin of the elusive
East Side Pink Flamingo. Kate will return you to the Inn, in time to catch the 4:30 pm mailboat back to the mainland.
Special souvenirs, too: Each person will receive a copy of the Inn at Isle au Haut Cookbook, an Isle au Haut apron, their own
loaf of homemade bread and handmade truffles from Black Dinah Chocolatiers.

This package is limited to 4 people only.
2011 PACKAGE DATES:
June 4 - June 5, 2011 (Saturday & Sunday)
Arrival on Saturday June 4, departing Stonington at 3:30 pm.
Depart Inn on Monday June 6 at 4:00 pm.
OR
June 7 - June 8, 2011 (Tuesday & Wednesday)
Arrival on Tuesday June 7, departing Stonington at 3:30 pm.
Depart Inn on Thursday June 9 at 4:00 pm.
OR
ANOTHER WEEKEND could be available if there is adequate interest.
PACKAGE PRICES
The package price for the Fo'c'sle and the Bosun's Quarters is $1200.00
per couple these rooms are on the second floor and share a bath.
The package price for the Captain's Quarters on the ground floor with a private bath is $1300.00 for a couple.
Package prices include 2 night's lodging, all meals, tax and instruction.
Mailboat fare is $17.00 per person each way. Secure parking at the boat company dock is available for $9.00 per day.
